IAEE MID-SOUTH CHAPTER BOARD
Basic Roles & Responsibilities
The IAEE Mid-South Board currently consist of five Officers and four Directors. The Board conducts all affairs of the Chapter, except as may be otherwise provided by law, by Bylaws, and the Bylaws of IAEE. The Board determines the present and future direction of the chapter including long-range planning, management of finances, member engagement and community outreach. Board Members lead committees that include but are not limited to finance, sponsorship, events, communications, community outreach, young professionals and others. Individual board members are asked to:

Maintain active IAEE membership;

Attend at least 50% of the chapter’s board meetings and social events;

Be prepared for board meetings

To actively lead/participate in board meeting discussions thoughtfully and responsibly;

Make a serious commitment to participate actively in committee work;

Volunteer for and willingly accept assignments and complete them thoroughly and on time;

Stay informed about committee matters, prepare for meetings, and review and comment on minutes and reports;

Be willing to serve as a committee chair and/or Executive Committee member;

Recruit committee members and build a working relationship with them;

Participate in recruiting next generation of committee and board members;

Support the majority decision on issues decided by the Board of Directors;

Sign the Conflict of Interest Statement and uphold its beliefs and values;

Maintain confidentiality out of respect for fellow Board members;
-
Know and promote understanding of the chapter mission and goals;

Maintain the Chapter on a sound financial basis and to exercise a strong sense of fiduciary responsibility on behalf of the Chapter;

Ensure that all activities are in adherence with the Chapter’s bylaws;
